Crab Seasons Announced
WDFW has announced that the crab season opener locally will once again be July 1. This includes Areas 6, 8-1, 8-2, most of 9, 10 and 13. The season will run through Labor Day September 4. Crabbing will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Most of Area 7 will open July 15 through September 30 and be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. To crab you need a shellfish license or a combination license along with the Puget Sound crab endorsement and crab catch record card. Kids 14 and under crab for free but still need the free catch record card. Remember all catch record cards need to be turned in or reported online by October 1 to avoid a $10 penalty next year.
